Football fans will be interested to know the names of the 25 modern day semifinalists who have been shortlisted by the Pro Football Hall of Fame to be eligible to enter the Class of 2024.
In Sep, a group of 173 players was shortlisted by the Pro Football Hall of Fame and this list was then trimmed down to 25 players and their names were revealed during a broadcast on the NFL Network. This list of players will once again be cut to just 15 players by the Selection Committee.
The Selection Committee consists 50 members from the Pro Football Hall of Fame who will determine the 15 players and then put it down to a vote. There is no fixed number of inductees that will be inducted into the Class of 2024 but the bylaws suggest a number between 4 to 9 members.
The shortlisted 25 member list are Ricky Watters, Tiki Barber, James Harrison, Patrick Willis, Jared Allen, Devin Hester, London Fletcher, Reggie Wayne, Eric Allen, Eddie George, Vince Wilfork, Dwight Freeney, Willie Anderson, Hines Ward, Anquan Boldin, Darren Woodson, Andre Johnson, Julius Peppers, and Jahri Evans, Antonio Gates, Rodney Harrison, Torry Holt, Fred Taylor, Robert Mathis and Steve Smith Sr.
