WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury took to Instagram to send a strong message to WBA, IBF, and WBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk. The two camps have tried to negotiate a contract during the last few weeks to get a fight made for April 29 at Wembley Stadium in the United Kingdom.
Accept 70/30 Purse Or Get Lost
Tyson Fury posted a video on Instagram that sent out an ultimatum to the Ukrainian heavyweight telling him to accept a 70/30 fight purse for April 29 at Wembley Stadium or get lost!
Usyk’s camp had earlier demanded a 50/50 fight purse but Fury wasn’t willing to accept those terms as he is the A side in the fight and the A side usually gets the heavier chunk. Fury told Usyk that there will be no more negotiations and if he does not accept those terms, the fight is off!
Usyk also responded via Instagram to accept the 70/30 fight purse but put in a clause which said Fury must donate GBP 1 million to help the people of Ukraine and for everyday that he delays transferring this amount after the fight, he must give up 1 percent of his purse.
Fight negotiations between the two camps are still on-going as they now argue about a potential rematch clause!
