Former UFC heavyweight champ Francis Ngannou watched his heavyweight belt go to UFC GOAT Jon Jones who beat Ciryl Gane by submission to become the new heavyweight champion.
Ngannou decided to part ways with the UFC and relinquish his heavyweight belt and a potential fight with Jon Jones as he wasn’t happy with the contractual terms that the UFC was offering him.
Fight With Jon Jones Will Never Happen
MMA fans were very keen to see Ngannou vs. Jones for the heavyweight championship but that fight is unlikely to happen now. Ngannou is currently trying to book a heavyweight boxing match with either Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder and has stated that he will step into the ring only for a sum of $30 million.
There were talks that Ngannou might return to the UFC after his boxing match to regain his heavyweight championship but it looks like that door is closed. UFC President Dana White said that as long as he remains President, Francis Ngannou will never return to the UFC again as it appears that the relationship with Ngannou and White is now beyond repair.
