Jankto who plays as a midfielder for Sparta Prague said he wanted to live his life in freedom like everyone else and by coming out, it will help him be free!
Sparta Prague released a statement and supported Jankto’s decision to publically announce that he was gay and asked him to live his life the way he wanted!
More Footballers Coming Out As Gay
In Oct 2021, Australian footballer Josh Cavallo announced that he was gay and in doing so became the first male active professional footballer to admit that he was gay. It did not take long before more footballers came out and admitted to being gay.
Jake Daniels who plays for Blackpool came out as gay in May 2022 and Zander Murray who plays for Scotland also opened up about being gay in 2022. With Jankto confessing to being gay in 2023, don’t be surprised if we see more footballers coming out as gay as the year progresses.
