Lucas Ocampos, the talented Argentine forward currently playing for Sevilla, has caught the attention of Fulham as they consider acquiring his services.
At 28 years old, Ocampos began his football journey in the youth system of River Plate before making a permanent move to Monaco in 2012. His career took him to Marseille, Genoa, AC Milan, and other clubs before joining Sevilla in July 2019. In his debut season, Ocampos played a pivotal role in Sevilla’s Europa League triumph.
However, in August 2022, he was loaned to Ajax but struggled to establish himself, making only six appearances in official matches. Consequently, he terminated his contract in January of this year. Upon returning to Sevilla, Ocampos showcased his abilities by contributing to their seventh title in three years during the Europa League final. Throughout the season, he registered five goals and two assists in 26 official appearances.
Recent reports indicate that Fulham, who finished 10th in the 2022-23 Premier League season, has expressed interest in securing Ocampos. Discussions have already commenced between Fulham and Sevilla regarding the player’s potential acquisition. The London-based club aims to finalize the deal for a transfer fee of approximately £15 million.
Despite Ocampos‘ struggles to adapt and secure a regular position during his loan spell at Ajax last summer, leading to his return to Sevilla, it remains uncertain whether he will depart from the Spanish club on a permanent transfer this summer.
