Pascal Siakam has been a core member of the Toronto Raptors for the last 6 years and was part of the 2019 NBA Championship winning squad. The 29 year old native from Cameroon joined the Raptors back in 2016 when they picked him as the 27th NBA draft pick.
Siakam who is now a two time All-Star forward has one more year to play out on his current contract with the Raptors which is valued at $37.9 million. He also has the option to re-sign and remain in Toronto for a potential $192 million over a 4 year period.
Atlanta Hawks Make Offer For Siakam
Shams Charania from The Athletic reported that both the Raptors and Siakam don’t seem very keen at the moment to move forward with a contract extension and the Raptors are keen to trade Siakam.
Charania said that the Atlanta Hawks are the first team to put down an official offer on the table for a trade with the Raptors where they will give up AJ Griffin and De’Andre Hunter and a draft pick for Siakam. However, that deal isn’t attractive enough for the Raptors to accept which means the Hawks will need to sweeten the deal or look elsewhere!
