at UFC welterweight champ Leon Edwards successfully defended his belt against challenger Colby Covington at UFC 296. Edwards vs. Covington was the Main Event and it failed to live up to expectations as Covington looked ‘slow and old’ according to UFC President Dana White and Edwards made it look easy.
There was bad blood between the two after Covington took a dig at Edward’s late father who was murdered when he was a young boy. Edwards was emotional during the press conference but controlled his emotions during the fight and made easy work of Covington.
Edwards Picks Rolex Over Motorcycle
After the fight, UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones took to X to congratulate Edwards on his performance and let him know that he felt he owed him something for beating Covington. Jones and Covington don’t get along and the two have exchanged banter on social media for years.
Jones offered to get Edwards or motorcycle or anything else. Edwards responded on X thanking Jones for his comments and also clarifying that he did not ride motorcycles but prefers a Rolex instead. Jon Jones is very likely to make that wish come true and gift Edwards a Rolex as a Christmas present!
