Dominant Display in Bundesliga Continues
Bayern Munich secured a commanding 5-0 victory over Werder Bremen in their Bundesliga clash on Saturday, extending their perfect start to the season. The dominant performance saw Bayern soar to the top of the league table with 12 points from four matches.
With a week before their next fixture against reigning champions Bayer Leverkusen, head coach Vincent Kompany confirmed the team would have some time to unwind by participating in one of Munich’s most beloved traditions—Oktoberfest.
Celebrating Tradition After Victory
When asked about the team’s plans to attend the famous beer festival, Kompany explained that tradition plays an important role at Bayern Munich.
“The players are allowed to be happy and satisfied with their win,” Kompany stated in a post-match interview. “Tomorrow is about respecting tradition. We’re going to enjoy Oktoberfest, but from Monday onwards, our focus shifts to preparing for Leverkusen.”
The victory over Bremen added to an impressive week for Bayern, which included a 6-0 triumph over newly-promoted Holstein Kiel in the league and a 9-2 demolition of Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League. Kompany praised his squad’s performance, emphasizing their dedication and focus despite the busy schedule.
Olise Shines in Standout Performance
One of the highlights of the match was French winger Michael Olise, who played a key role in Bayern’s win with two goals and two assists. Olise, who joined Bayern from Crystal Palace for €60 million this summer, is quickly making his mark on the team.
“Michael is a special talent,” said Kompany. “He’s been fantastic since arriving at Bayern, and his contribution today was crucial. He’s a player who enjoys the game and doesn’t feel much pressure. It’s a pleasure to have him.”
Bayern Munich Unveil Oktoberfest 2024 Jersey
As the Oktoberfest celebrations draw near, Bayern Munich have released their special-edition 2024 Oktoberfest jersey, continuing a club tradition. The jersey is part of a larger Oktoberfest collection, which includes an array of merchandise designed to celebrate both the festival and the team’s strong connection to Munich’s cultural heritage.
The centrepiece of this year’s collection is a custom-designed FC Bayern Oktoberfest emblem, featured on all items, providing fans with the perfect way to support their team while partaking in the festivities.
As Bayern take a brief break to enjoy the festival, the team will quickly refocus ahead of their crucial clash against Bayer Leverkusen, where they will aim to maintain their unbeaten record in the league.
