Australia suffered an embarrassing defeat to India in the first test as they lost by an innings and 132 runs. Australia could score just 191 in their first innings batting first and then were bowled out for just 91 in their second innings.
Australian Media Very Critical Of Test Team
Australian media have been very critical of the team’s performance in the first test and have raised multiple questions.
These questions come from ex-cricketers and fans who want to know why Travis Head was not selected for the first test? Why David Warner continues to get numerous chances to keep his spot as an opener despite his poor performances and why did the Australian Cricket Board not schedule any warm-up against ahead of the first test?
Australia have very little time to recover and regroup after their embarrassing defeat as the second test in the four match test series is set to take place from Feb 17 to 21 in Delhi. The selectors are under pressure to make changes ahead of the second test but it is unlikely that they will drop Warner.
Australia know that it will be difficult to beat India in India but they need to put in a better performance and fight till the end to silence their critics back home in Australia.
