A trade between the Boston Celtics and the Washington Wizards may be on the horizon. According to ESPN reporter Adrian Wojnarowski, the Celtics are in negotiations with the Wizards to acquire Kristaps Porzingis.
Initially, it was reported to be a three-team trade involving the Los Angeles Clippers. However, Wojnarowski reports that the Clippers expressed concerns about Malcolm Brogdon, who was set to be acquired by the Celtics. Consequently, negotiations are now ongoing between the Celtics and the Wizards as a two-team trade.
Porzingis, who will turn 28 in August, played 65 games for the Wizards this season, averaging a career-high of 23.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.5 blocks. His contract for the upcoming season is worth $36 million with a player option, which would need to be exercised if the trade goes through.
Since the addition of new leadership, the Wizards have been revamping their roster with trades, including the recent trade involving Bradley Beal.
