Mark Hunt was one of the most respected MMA fighters and a top draw in the UFC for many years. Hunt faced Brock Lesnar in the co-main event at UFC 200 in Sep 2016 and ended up losing. However, that decision was later overturned and made into a draw after Lesnar failed a drug test.
Hunt went on to sue the UFC, Brock Lesnar and UFC President Dana White claiming all three knew that Hunt was on drugs and misled him into taking the fight and thereby put his life at risk.
Hunt Loses Lawsuit And A Lot More
Hunt took his lawsuit into federal court and for the last 6 years has engaged in a legal battle with the UFC, Brock Lesnar and UFC President Dana White. U.S. District Judge Jennifer A. Dorsey dismissed Hunt’s lawsuit earlier this week and has brought the proceedings to an end.
Dorsey said that Hunt did not provide enough evidence to back his claims that the trio willingly misled him. This loss is a big blow to Hunt as the federal lawsuit would have cost him hundreds of thousands in legal fees. Hunt has also admitted that after the lawsuit, he lost his love for fighting and realizes that no other promotion will work with him due to the lawsuit he filed.
