Conor McGregor who is still the biggest name in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) even though he hasn’t fought in over 2 years is making headlines once again. Irish police have launched an investigation into McGregor’s series of social media tweets.
McGregor has been very active on the X platform during the last few days taking open shots at the ruling government in Ireland for dropping the ball and not doing enough to ensure the peace and safety of its citizens. Those tweets were brought on after riots took place in Dublin last week and resulted in three children being injured in a knife attack.
McGregor said change was needed and there will be change in Ireland because he was in the process of arranging it. He also wrote Ireland we are at war! Irish police have launched an investigation into potential hate speech and discrimination.
There are some who suggest that McGregor has openly challenged the government because he is planning a foray into Irish politics and will use his enormous social media following and popularity to launch his political career. McGregor is planning a potential return to the UFC in mid-2024.
