The PGA Tour has been under pressure from its players ever since it announced a surprise merger with rival golf operator, the LIV Golf Tour which is owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund.
Players at the PGA Tour teamed up and sent a strong letter to the PGA Tour pushing for them to appoint Tiger Woods as a Player Director. The letter was endorsed by a number of top players including Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler and Jon Rahm.
The players said in the letter that they do not want the PGA Tour to form any new policies or modify existing ones without running them past the player directors in order to get the views and suggestions of the players before they are finalized.
