UFC lightheavyweight champ Jamahal Hill is ready to fight but his opponent Jiri Prochazka isn’t ready to go and the UFC is making Hill wait. The waiting is frustrating the champ who is keen to find another opponent if Jiri isn’t ready to fight.
Jiri was the UFC lightheavyweight champ but decided to relinquish his title a year ago after suffering a bad shoulder injury. The UFC promised Jiri that he would get a title shot immediately once he was ready to fight and UFC President Dana White has already said Hill’s next opponent will be the former champ Jiri.
Hill Okay To Fight New Opponent Next
Hill told MMA media that he had grown impatient waiting for Jiri as there is no clear date as of now as to when Jiri will be able to step into the Octagon. Hill said he was keen to have his first title defence and was ready to face any opponent that the UFC felt was ready for a title shot.
Jiri did release a statement and said that in a few more months he will be ready to fight again and take the title but did not give a timeline on his return.
