The premier promotion in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) had yet another successful year in 2023. The UFC will close out this year with its final pay per view card as UFC 296 takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada on Dec 16.
Main Event – Edwards vs. Covington
The Main Event will see welterweight champ Leon Edwards defend his belt against Colby Covington who will have former president Donald J Trump in attendance to support him. This is the third title shot that Covington is getting as his previous two attempts against former champ Kamaru Usman failed.
Co-Main Event: Pantoja vs. Royval 2
UFC flyweight champ Alexandre Pantoja will defend his title for the first time when he rematches Brandon Royval. The first time they fought was back in 2021 and Pantoja won that fight by submission. Both fighters have improved their games tremendously in the last few years and this is expected to be a close fight.
Some of the other exciting fights on this card include a welterweight banger between Stephen Thompson and Shavkat Rakhmonov; Paddy Pimblett against Tony Ferguson and Ian Garry against Vicente Luque.
